The cooperative, in one paragraph
“Mozi Cooperative was founded in 2025 by Larry Klosowski with co-founders, based on the cooperative model documented by the Mondragon Corporation since 1956. Mozi is a worker-and-investor-owned cooperative structured under Wyoming DAO LLC law. The cooperative holds and operates the infrastructure of the Citrate Network. Operating revenue across seven streams returns to members on a defined annual schedule. The cooperative is governed by a Member Assembly, which elects a nine-seat Governing Council to three-year terms. Three working groups — Capital, Operations, Research — produce the cooperative’s specific outputs.”
Where the cooperative comes from
The Mondragon Corporation was founded in 1956 by Father José María Arizmendiarrieta and five engineering students in the Basque Country. It currently spans 92 cooperative businesses, employs 70,500 worker-owners, and generates approximately €11 billion in annual revenue. Its 30-year survival rate is 97%. The cooperative federation has documented, for seventy years, that this model produces durable institutions.
Mozi applies that model to AI infrastructure. The intellectual foundation lives in the Cnidarian Foundation papers, a series of nine papers covering cooperative governance, biomimetic systems thinking, and the design of distributed AI compute infrastructure. The papers are linked at /papers; their canonical versions live at cnidarian.org.
