For builders, partners, hires

Engineering and design standards worth working under.

Mozi hires patient builders. The work is the long maintenance of cooperative infrastructure: protocol engineering, governance design, member operations, formal verification. The standards are documented; the people are by name.

The cooperative builds and maintains the infrastructure of the Citrate Network.

Three working groups produce three classes of output. Capital builds and operates the funds. Operations builds and maintains the Citrate Network — the BlockDAG consensus, the formal verification layer, the AI compute substrate, the developer tools. Research publishes the Cnidarian Foundation papers. The work spans protocol engineering, formal verification (TLA+ specifications, model checking), governance design, member operations, financial reporting, design and writing.

Patient builders, documented standards, named team.

Mozi hires for decades, not quarters. The cooperative’s compensation structure caps the ratio between top and bottom pay at 6:1, by bylaw. Builders who work at Mozi are also members of the cooperative, with audit rights to the books and a vote in the assembly. The work happens in Carpinteria, California, with remote-first practice for most roles.

Standards are documented and version-controlled. Engineering reviews are recorded; design decisions are written up; governance proposals are filed in the public archive. The cooperative does not work in stealth, does not spin up and tear down skunkworks, and does not run private channels for what should be a public conversation.

The full list of open positions lives at /build/work. Each position links to its full role description, compensation band, working group, and application path.

Compensation: roles are posted with a band (e.g., $180K–$240K) plus member equity (the cooperative’s 25% share allocation). All builders become cooperative members on the standard membership terms.

Partnerships beyond hiring.

Mozi partners with research institutions, schools, infrastructure operators, and other cooperatives on specific projects. If your organization is interested in a partnership inquiry, the form at /build/work#partner-inquiry routes to the working group most relevant to your inquiry.

Patient builders, by name.

The team is small and grows by named addition. The full roster — co-founders, working group leads, current builders — lives at /build/people, with each person’s role, working group, and contact path. The same roster also appears at /about/team for institutional reference.
